Insurance
- The most common misconception with insurance is: my insurance will cover all my medical fees. Insurance is designed to reduce your costs, not to eliminate them totally
- Each insurance company has a pre-determined payment schedule. Please be aware that you may have a:
- Co-payment- This is the amount that your policy requires us to collect with each office visit
- Co-Insurance- This is the percentage of the bill that is your financial responsibility
- Deductible- This is the total amount that your policy requires you to pay before they will pay any claims on your behalf
- Out of network Penalty- If we are a non-participant with your particular insurance; your insurance will cover your fees at a reduced rate
- Insurance plans have different sets of criteria which must be met in order to proceed with certain test or treatments. Your insurance may require pre-approval, pre-authorization, pre-certification, or a 2nd opinion before we can schedule a service. Please understand we try to complete this in as timely a fashion as possible
The office wants to emphasize that our relationship is with you, the patient and not with your particular insurance company. All charges are your responsibility and it is important to contact us directly if you have any questions on claims submitted to your insurance company on your behalf.
If you have any questions regarding your coverage or if we participate with your specific insurance, please feel free to contact out billing office at (502) 587-7269
