Tom Steltenkamp, ATC

Tom Steltenkamp has been providing valuable medical and training assistance to ensure
the health and safety of athletes throughout the Louisville Metro area since 1985.
He is a graduate of Ft. Thomas Highlands High School and the University of Louisville.
He has been the Director of Athletic Training Services for the Dr. Rudy J. Ellis
Sports Medicine Center since 1985 and Administrator for Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics,
PSC since 1999. Tom has helped provide sports medicine and athletic training coverage
for Jefferson County athletes and medical coverage for all KHSAA Championships that
are held in Jefferson County since 1985. He is the Co-director of the KMA/KHSAA
Annual Coaches Medical Symposium. He has been past president, vice-president and
secretary for the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society. He has received the following
awards: 1995 recipient of the Kentucky High School Athletic Directors Association
– Dr. Rudy J. Ellis Distinguished Service Award; 2000 recipient of the Southeastern
Athletic Trainers Association – Clinical Athletic Trainer of the Year Award; 2004
Metro Athletic Directors Hall of Fame: 2005 Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society –
Award of Merit; 2006 Mason-Dixon Games – Hall of Fame; 2006 Dawahares Kentucky
High School Athletic Association – Hall of Fame; 2007 Kentucky Derby Festival - Volunteer
of the Year and 2007 Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society Hall of Fame.
